World Turtle Day Lunch

Today is World Turtle Day!! So why not celebrate it with a fun lunch? :)

This was Eliana's lunch today! She loved it and gobbled it all up :) I used my turtle cupcake silicone cups (I got them from Christmas Tree Shops) and made her a quick and easy lunch/muffin tin meal (food served in muffin tins, or silicone cups). In one of the cups she got sliced grapes, since I tried to resemble a turtle shell.. I'm not sure if I succeeded.. but she liked it! In another she had sliced cumbers and in the last she had rolled ham and cheese. Since these turtles are in the water I had some cucumber "seaweed" and some goldfish fishies swimming around.

Today also had me remembering this lunch I forgot to blog about! Eliana had gotten a new Melissa and Doug Turtle Snack Container from her buelo and buela last year and have loved using it! And of course its a Turtle -- so perfect for today! :)

Isn't it adorable? It is the perfect size for a snack and it actually works great for a smaller lunch too! It works out perfect for Eliana since she doesn't always eat a big lunch.  She also can take off the cover easily all by herself.

And yes I used green grapes and cucumber in a turtle lunch again... I'm seeing a theme here! :) Inside the container are three compartments; two smaller ones and one larger one. We packed sliced cucumbers, green grapes and I.M. Healthy Chocolate Soy Nut Butter and cracker sandwiches.  This was a really quick and easy lunch to put together and Eliana loved it :) We've actually made plenty of snacks in this container the past year but I don't think I've taken many pictures of them so I'm glad I found this picture for today! :)

Cupcake Couture Blog Party

Cupcakes Anyone?

Even though here on Creative Food I don't share as many sweets and cupcakes, those who know me, you know I love cupcakes! I love baking them. I love decorating them. Most of all I love eating them.  So when Carrie from Bella Cupcake Couture and Betsy from JavaCupcake & Cupcakes Take the Cake asked if I would participate in a blog party with cupcakes I said YES! This was the perfect excuse to make cupcakes (as if I needed an excuse!) So a big thank you to them for inviting me to participate! I am so thankful to be a part of this blog party!

Carrie supplied these gorgeous cupcake wrappers from Bella Cupcake Couture. Now, when it comes to cupcakes I am all about simple. There is something so beautiful about a frosted cupcake. For my daughter's fifth birthday party, it was Angry Birds themed and the cupcakes were simple-- decorated only with a cupcake ring. The cupcake ring made decorating sooo easy and I loved it. But what if I wanted something more elegant?

Seriously. Simple never looked this good.

These wrappers do just that.  You could even take boxed cake and premade frosting (yes, even I don't make everything from scratch all the time!) and turn it into this in a matter of seconds. I started off with yummy chocolate cupcakes. I used a Wilton 1M Star tip with the vanilla frosting. I then added sprinkles on top for some extra flair. I'm telling you. My cupcakes have never looked this good before. These wrappers transformed my cupcakes in a matter of seconds! These wrappers would also be perfect for any party or occasion. I also love how they have three sizes, so they can fit bigger cupcakes too!

I had never used cupcake wrappers before, and I must say. They are seriously an awesome and creative way to jazz up your cupcakes quickly and easily! (and I'll say again: they are gorgeous!)
